Part One Of My Journey:

Part One Of My Journey: The Philosophical Side

I am just a 29 year old woman that is very passionate about my future career and the study of law.

My journey has not been easy but it has shown that I am truly capable of realizing my dreams even if it might take a while to get there. When I was 16 I thought I had life all planned out. I was the typical teenage girl that had all these dreams, hopes, and plans but sometimes life throws a wrench in those plans and that is okay. Because when it truly comes down to it is about the journey that took us there and along the journey we realize how strong we are. I sometimes feel that God throws wrenches in our plans to teach us a lesson,to smell the roses along the way. I know I will get into law school eventually but sometimes it takes bit longer than usual. By the time I was sixteen I realized what I wanted to be when I grew up and it has never changed. Before I was sixteen I knew I wanted to be a lawyer but many times I changed my future occupations because of doubts, weather it be from myself or family members,or just ugly thoughts from my head.

I really don't know where I am going with this entry but I somehow want to reach out to girls/women that you can be whatever you set your mind to because as long as you believe in yourself that is all that matters. Everyone will always have doubters along the way but pay no attention to them just because they were afraid to conquer there dreams does not mean you are them. We are all individuals and we all have different dreams no matter how big or small they are. They are your dreams and never let anyone take them away from you. Maybe this post doesn't make sense to many but it is alright because this is truly coming from my heart and soul. I am truly being vulnerable right now.  My whole life I been doubted because of my birth defect. I have never let it define who I am and never will.
How's that for a little inspiration on a Monday.

Stay Tune For Part Two Tomorrow:

The Purpose Of This Blog

Hello,

The purpose of this blog is to talk about my journey towards law school and also talk about law school and anything that has to do with the "art of law".

I want to talk about how hard it is to get into law schools obviously duh right!? I also want to encourage fellow minorities to consider law as a career. We are underrepresented  in the area of law:women and minorities but specifically Latina/Latino. Right now the market is saturated with lawyers every blog and news site says but I think the market is saturated with the wrong types the ones that are working in corporate. Not that I am saying anything is wrong with that per say because who wouldn't want to get paid a lot of money to pay off all those law loans. That is not the type of life I would want because that is not why I want to be a lawyer. I want to be able to help people not turn them away because they can't afford a lawyer. The thing with the problem with lawyers that are going into corporate that is less lawyers for the middle class. Right now only the very rich can afford a lawyer or the poor are givens  the rights to a lawyer. How about the middle class that can't afford a lawyer that is what and who I want to represent. I want to fight for the family that can't afford a lawyer, that are discrimated and taken advantage of. We need more lawyers that are like that and are able and want to help the middle income that is also shrinking in the United States. We need to encourage other minority's to get into this field not get away from it because the more minority's we have then I feel we can use that to open more doors to opportunities.

I want to document my life while in law school and the journey I take because I know it will be hard but also so worth it when my dreams are realized. That in itself is remarkable. I always want to know about the day to day life  of law school and never could find any blogs that document the journey and the ones I did find were a few years out of date. That is why I decided to create this and hope in the future could be a help to pre-law students.

That is all I have for now.
  Until next time,

P.S. Next time I will be talking about my journey thus far  getting into law school.

  • I love writing  especially in blogs and diarys. I have had a diary in a little o'l website called bloop diary.com and various blogs that I have abondoned because I get discourage easily.
  • I have always wanted to write a blog and actually keep up with it and I hope that I am able to do that with this one. Even if it takes a bit for people to actually read this I hope I can help fellow girls and even guys about law school.
  • My next entry will consist of why I created this blog and the purpose of it.
